NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
The City of Reminderville Board of Zoning and Building Appeals will hold a Public Hearing on June 1, 2026 at 6:30pm at Village Hall located at 3382 Glenwood Boulevard to discuss the case of Willie and Youlanda Banks, and Robert and Eloise Hunt, owners of the property at 3419 Glenwood Boulevard who are seeking an area variance to permit the construction of a horseshoe-shaped driveway across the a portion of the 90 linear feet of frontage along Glenwood Boulevard. The property is zoned Class A Residential.
905.10 Hard Surface Area Coverage and Location
(a) Hard surface drives shall not cover the width of a lot or lots in excess of the following formula:
(1) Lot width of 50 feet or less;
Width of lot x 33% = Width of drive
(2) Lot width in excess of 50 feet;
Width of lot x 33% = minus width of lot x 15% = width of drive
(b) The Board of Zoning and Building Appeals shall review drives as follows:
(1) Any in excess of permitted coverage areas as specified by subsections (a)(1) and (a)(2).
(2) Any drives on cul-de-sac or bubble lots.
(3) Any drives in which the hard surface driveway will extend into the area of the front yard setback between the dwelling unit living space and the street line. (i.e. horseshoe driveways and the like)
(4) Any drives, as determined necessary by the Building Inspector.
In using the calculation prescribed in section 905.10(a)(2), 16 linear feet of driveway would be permitted to cover the lot frontage within the front yard setback.
The owners are requesting a variance to permit approximately 68 linear feet of driveway covering the lot frontage within the front yard setback.
The Building Inspector (Building Official) has determined that the driveway needs to be reviewed by the Board of Zoning and Building Appeals regarding concerns raised by other City Officials.
The public is invited to attend or submit comments in writing.
